Hello Hair Featured on CHCH: Thank You for Celebrating Our Curls!

Hello Hair is thrilled and deeply grateful to be featured on CHCH in a beautiful segment highlighting how our brand helps Black children embrace their natural hair. Seeing our story and mission shared is more than just exciting news for us - it’s a powerful affirmation that representation, confidence, and joyful hair education truly matter.

In the CHCH feature, founder Anita Grant shares how her own journey from hiding and straightening her curls for over 20 years to finally embracing her natural hair inspired the creation of Hello Hair. Becoming a mom played a big role in that transformation, and Anita wanted to make sure her daughter—and children everywhere—saw their curls, coils, and kinks celebrated as beautiful, versatile, and worthy of love. You can learn more about Anita's story here.

Our Hello Hair children's book is designed like a fun 90s-style hair magazine and showcases around 100 different natural hairstyles that kids and caregivers can try together. From playful puffs to braids, twists, and more, each style is about more than just looking cute; it’s about building routine, confidence, and connection between children and the people who care for them.

The CHCH segment also highlighted our expanding world beyond the book, including our styling dolls created with real, textured human hair. These dolls are designed so that kids and parents can learn, practice, and explore natural hair care in a low-pressure, fun way, while seeing hair that actually looks and feels like theirs. You can meet our dolls and see their different curl patterns in our styling dolls collection.

To everyone who discovered us for the first time through CHCH: thank you. Your support helps us continue creating books, tools, and experiences that teach kids to love their crowns - exactly as they are.

If you're new to our community, we invite you to meet the Hello Hair girls, explore our hair education blog or reach out via our contact page if you have questions or ideas.
